Replacement of oxygen sensors should be part of every vehicle’s scheduled maintenance. DENSO recommends changing oxygen sensors with every tune-up as well as any other time there is a risk of oil, lead additives, coolant or water entering into the exhaust system. In these circumstances the oxygen sensor(s) should be changed to rule out the possible sensor contamination.
