The Hon Ian Mcfarlane MP (Federal Minister for Industry, Tourism and Resources) officially opened DENSO's state-of-the-art Test Facility (Research and Development Centre) at its manufacturing headquarters Australian Automotive Air. Mr Mcfarlane said "It is great to see an Australian based automotive producer who is investing a significant amount of money in research and development to strengthen the position of our industry for the future."
The centre boasts:
Climatic Chamber - re-creating 'real world' conditions
Noise Vibration Room - low noise environment for testing automobile systems
Vehicle Maintenance Workshop
Australian Automotive Air's Managing Director Russell Pettis stated that "this multi-million dollar centre signals DENSO's commitment to further enhancing the technological capability of the Australian automotive industry, adding vision and strength towards it's long term future. All major local car manufacturers will have the opportunity to utilise the new facility, further enhancing local knowledge, production and automotive design."
