DENSO Corporation and DENSO's subsidiary DENSO E&TS Training Center, which is responsible for providing engineering and technical training for DENSO employees, won two gold medals in the Mobile Robotics and CNC Turning categories at the 40th WorldSkills Competition. The competition was held in Calgary, Canada, Sept. 1-21, 2009.
DENSO participants from Japan competed in four categories: Manufacturing Team Challenge; Electronics; Industrial Control; and Mobile Robotics. Yuuta Imai and Takaaki Ozaki won the gold medal in the Mobile Robotics category. Also, for the second consecutive time, DENSO employees from overseas subsidiaries participated in the event. This year, Nathaphon Chaiprasian from Thailand won the gold medal in the CNC Turning category. This was the first gold medal received by a participant from DENSO's overseas subsidiary.
DENSO has participated in the WorldSkills Competition since 1971. To date, DENSO employees have won 24 gold medals, 11 silver medals, and 11 bronze medals.
