
For the second consecutive year, DENSO Australia Group has successfully won the prestigious Supplier of the Year award from the Federal Chamber of Industries (FCAI) in recognition of its excellence as a first tier automotive component supplier to the Australian automotive industry.
The award, based on selection by all of the local car industry, was assessed on product development, quality, timely delivery, competitive pricing, project management and customer service - aspects which DENSO believes are vital to the success of its operations.
The DENSO Australia Group – comprising of DENSO International Australia (DIAU) and Australian Automotive Air (AAA); has a 600 strong workforce which manufactures engine cooling systems, air conditioning, air intake systems, fuel pump modules and instrument clusters as well as the sales of imported, and aftermarket products.
“There are many areas where we can become innovative – especially in the environmental area. This is particularly important as Australia embraces the global carbon emission reduction challenge†said Neil Kitamiya, Managing Director of DIAU.
The group has a sound history of being environmentally focused; evident in its industry leading IS014001 Environmental Management System accreditation, and by being the first manufacturer to release CFC-free car air-conditioners.
Managing Director of AAA, Russell Pettis said ‘the current economic downturn has adversely affected the Australian automotive market. Consequently the industry must improve in all areas of business to survive. The qualities which have helped DENSO Australia Group to achieve this award will need to be further enhanced to assist us to get through these turbulent times.
