General Motors Corp. has given its prestigious Corporation of the Year award to DENSO Corporation during GM's recent 14th Annual Supplier of the Year ceremony in Michigan, USA. DENSO has been a supplier to GM since 1982 and supplies GM in all its commodity groups. Some of DENSO's offerings include: navigation systems, HVAC systems, engine cooling systems, sensors, generators, air cleaners, thermostats, fuel systems and body electronics.
"DENSO's commitment to innovation, quality, delivery and cost is greatly appreciated by GM. DENSO is a global company that is working in every area of the business, meeting our needs and requirements. We salute DENSO and its employees for their hard work and dedication," said Bo Andersson, vice president of GM Global Purchasing and Supply Chain.
DENSO is a nine-time Supplier of the Year winner and previously was named GM's Corporation of the Year in 1997 and 2000. Additionally, DENSO was among 85 suppliers representing the global automotive community that were honoured at this year's celebration at GM’s Technical Centre in Warren, Michigan.
The GM Supplier of the Year program began in 1992 and each year, a global team of purchasing, engineering, manufacturing and logistics executives determines the winners. Its decisions are based on supplier performance in the areas of quality, service, technology and price.
